Abstract

Semiconducting oxides, such as nanoparticles, nanoclusters, nanowires, nanorods or nanotubes, are of great interest nanomaterials for gas and bio-sensor applications [1], [2], [3]. An extremely high surface-to-volume ratio of such nanostructures combined with surface functionalization with noble nanoclusters is beneficial for gas and bio-sensor applications due to formation of nano-junctions at their surface [1], [2], [3].
